Hi
We have been living in Italy for nearly 2 years and understand from both our Italian & English friends the cost of employment is very high and also removing any surplus employees difficult compared to the UK, so much in fact a lot of people are employed "in the black" even by companies closely associated with the authorities.

I have been advised by an Italian law firm that the employers monthly controbution cost would be almost the same as the employee, Therefore If his salary is 2000 Euros per month I need to be looking at paying 4000 Euros , I find this amazing is the contrbution for Italian companies 100% of employees wages for all staff every month.

I was expecting Income tax contribution to be around 20 to 25% similar to that in the UK and whatever the NI equal is for Italy. frown

I think you may have misunderstood, the employers liability would be the same as the employees deductions, not his total salary
