worlds longest traffic jam
Discussion
There was a 2 hour queue at the Mont Blanc (French side) Saturday, but at least the view and weather were spectacular, so it was a nice break in our 1100 mile drive!
Heard Frejus was similar length queues too.
Anyone know exactly why they seem to restrict traffic or do they really not have the capacity to process more vehicles at the toll booths?
We also noticed, the drive across France was extrmely busy Friday night/Saturday morning through the all niter drive down to Tuscany.

I go Belgium, Luxembourg, France and Switzerland via St Gotardo Tunnel. When Busy you get in the inside lane and go over the top.I do Italy at night this time of year and miss the traffic, although the Autogrill will be heaving even at night.
France during the day is full of BIB and they confiscate cars if your English and get caught. You save doing my route,on the fuel at Luxembourg and on the tolls in France. Its only 40 miles longer.
Im going tuesday and it should have calmed down a bit by then.
