Cant give you any advice on the ferry side of things Louis but if you value your 'Vette you seriously need to think twice about taking it into any of the major towns & cities, they're mentle to say the least, especilly the capital and Catinia(where we stayed). I just got back last week and i was amazed how they drove. After a day or so i just drove the same as them, quite enjoyed it really!, now im back in the UK i think i'd better start driving normal. Driving a hire car is one thing, a 'Vette!?...
I work in Palermo and have a car here. It's not too bad really and you do end up driving like they do but as you can only drive between 20 and 30 mph anywhere you get a good chance of seeing whats going on around you. Parkings more of an issue and I'd make sure you secure som off road parking, otherwise there is a high percentage someone will scrape it
Palermo is great 2 lanes and they manage to squeze in 5..just dont be intimidated or they will eat you alive. They alllean on the horn but that is just an Italian thing.Road rage almost doesnt exist.
I dont like Messina much....The ferrys are a toughy for ground clearance, whichever one you take.
I drive it at least twice every year.you may struggle on the very small roads but Ferraris seem to manage out there.
Niiiiice tunnels though.
