Slightly off topic here!

I have recently bought a property in northern Sardinia.

We have a communal satellite which i think is pointing at hotbird (not 100% though)

We have a sort of freeview satellite box at the moment and all i can get is BBC World and CNN!!

Can i take my UK Sky Box to Sardinia and watch like i do in the UK without having to alter/move the communal antenna.

If it's pointing at the correct sat, it should work. Only one way to find out I suppose.

don't think that's the right sat, you'll need another dish maybe

To watch UK Sky TV, you will need another dish pointing in a different direction to the Italian ones, we have one for UK SKY and the one for the Italian channels is on the other side of the wall!
I find it strange that the reception quality of the UK aimed dish is miles better than the Italian TV signal!

Thanks folks.

It would seem i am doomed as we have a communal antenna which obviously cant be moved. We are not allowed individual dishes either.

Is there any other way of receiving a few british channel like BBC1,2,ITV and Ch.4 through my hotbird satellite?
