We're staying in Rapallo for a couple of weeks at the end of June this year.
Looking for any Motorsport events on the weekend of 30th June/1st July.
Could be anything within a couple of hours drive of Rapallo, Racing/hillclimbs etc.

Thanks in advance.

Oh boy are you in luck with those dates.

Google Vernasca silver flag.

I really want to get down there this year but not sure if it's possible.

That's great, thanks very much. Does look like a great event, maybe only a couple of hours drive from us also.

Yes, I checked maps too ,just to make sure it wasn't miles away but shortest was 2.5 hours journey.

Or there's a scenic route ,way shorter but probably involving some twisties.....driving...but 3 hours.

Hi there Pericosolo, thread update.
We made it to the Silver Flag, thanks for the recommendation we had a great day on the Saturday. Only took an hour and a half to get there from Rapallo, couldn't believe the difference in inland temperature compared to the coast. Still 35 degrees at 6.30pm. Rapallo 27 with a nice breeze so we did struggle a bit in the heat biggrin
Fantastic varied selection of cars and a few special drivers, Art Merzario/Jurgen Barth.

Thanks again for the recommendation bow

Hi there Dinoboy.
I went on Friday and Saturday too and also had a great time.

I leftvrsrly on Saturday as I was just so hot ,I'd seen the first run through ,I stood out on the course at Lugagno d'Arda ,by the brick works.

At lunch I drove the remaining piece of the road up to Vernasca and back to Castell d'Arquto for the startline and another walk amongst the paddock.

Literally got home about 1 hour ago after spending few more days near Lucca.

I just read my previous posts.

I didn't mention that I hadn't been to this before either but got recommended to try it by
another poster a couple of years ago.

Driving up the hillclimb route at lunch time would of been cool. We were busy trying to cool down with drinks at that point smile
I've not uploaded all my photos from my camera yet, just a few phone ones. I might start a separate thread once I've done that.

There was very little shade where I was.

I plonked down my little seat in the shade of an HGV parked but just had to do something during the break ,it wasn't a long drive to

the finish where I was.

Just a couple of corners from where I was ,I saw one of the course cars ,of which there were many ,in the ditch.

I neither saw nor heard the crash.

Driver of Car M ,I guess ran out of talent and a 964 911 wagged it's tail a bit too much and backwards into a ditch it went.

I didn't get a pic of this but I bet it took some retrieving.

The blue Abarth Periscopico broke down just after where I was, they got going again eventually ,saw men examining one of the 2 rotor arms later.

One of my favourite pics.

This Lancia is like a half size Ferrari Barchetta.
