Already posted in the Swiss section but thought it worth while asking here.
I'm planning on staying in Montreux on my drive town to the Aosta valley next weekend. I've had contradictory advice on whether the tunnel is open which has now been answered, however I would like to find out if the E27 on the Italian side of the tunnel is ploughed to keep it clear. A detour, probably via the Mont Blanc, would eat into the journey too much and I would probably just go through France all the way if I couldn't be certain of the tunnel and road being passable.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I drove into the tunnel last Friday coming back in Italy (I live in Turin) the road on the Italian side was opened, no detour. It is very unlikely that it gets closed for cars, generally just for trucks.
