We're off to Italy next week.

France has changed so significantly over the last few years that speed on the Autoroute is now a great big NO! and progress can no longer be made.

So what's the situation regarding speed on the Autostradas lately?

Thanks.

Last time I was over (April), no change from normal which seems to be speed limits are a minimum, not a maximum. Our normal route is via monte bianco, val d'aosta to Genova, then down the coast to Lucca. Can't recall any speed cameras or sneaky Feds with lasers, unlike Le gendarmes en route a Le mans.

I was flashed in France , belgium, Switzerland and italy last time.I shall wait to see if anything arrives in the post....not going especially fast...
I was very lucky at 3am just outside Dover. There was a 30mph speed restriction with a camera. The french car a few hundred meters infront was flashed which woke me up to the fact that i was back!
I have 9pts for speeding; both times were in the UK, a few days after coming back from trips to Italy. Both times I should have been banned.
I was lucky.I have had 3 years now of having to go slow.

I have to say though, the state of the roads in Italy, what a National disgrace. Bump, thump, bang, crash, wallop, thud, smash, bash. Got right on my tits it did, I thought the car was going to break it took such a pounding.
