Well, I've been driving it the last few days, so far, so good (touch wood).

I had an odd little experience today - when I switched it in, the rev counter (but not the actual revs) went up well into the red, and stayed there for several minutes, before gradually ebbing, until the dial started to show something that seemd like a real reading. Then, a little later, I noticed that the fuel gauge dropped to empty when I put my foot on the brake. Then ALL the gauges went funny, again, just for two or three minutes.

A couple of years ago, when I had my first one, I was looking for a bloke who had made a kit to uprate the heater; when I spoke with him, he recommended, before I did anything else, the installation of an earthing plate he manufactured. This fit to the back of the instrument panel, and provided a common earth for all the gauges. After today's little performance, I think I need one.

I have in mind that his name might have been Mackinac, or similar. Does anyone know if he is still on the go, and how to get in touch with him?
