any inv3's for sale?
Discussion
Hello to all gilbern fanatics,
just wondering if anyone knew of any Gilberns for sale within a 100 mile radius of Cardiff? I'm looking for something that can be used day to day, don't mind having to do the usual running repairs or gradual restoration.
I did work extensively on what could be the only convertible MK3 some years ago now, FAD 360L which we completely restored from the chassis up i wonder if anyone knows of it's whereabouts this was going back about 18yrs or so i do remember attending the National day at that time. Anyway i'm still enthusiastic about the cars & would like to buy one for this summer,
Thanks

Hi
I know of a good estate featured at the moment on ebay which looks like a very usable example which i know of personally, and wouldn't mind buying myself if the price is right. It needs some tlc now and the ReG is BAF 910K. It's fitted with a Ford Cologne 2.8 V6.
I recall seeing your old convertible 'the Phoenix', at the last Gilbern National Day to be held at St Fagans, in June 2004. I'm only aware of two convertibles ever being done.

You might like to try contacting the membership sec of the Gilbern Owners Club, on www.gilbernoc, who maybe able to give you the contact details of the present owner of the phoenix.( If the owner's registered as a GOC member)
I recall it had an all leather interior and was featured in several road tests /articles. I don't know what condition it's in now though sorry.

Ok thanks,
we did attend the Bristol Classic Car show a couple weeks ago, i spoke to some of the guys there on the Gilbern stand apparently the car is looking a bit worse for wear these days never mind. Anyway as a result i was contacted by another member of the club & have since bought a mk3 which is in reasonable condition. Waiting for my club membership to go through at the moment, i'm sure the wallet will be coming back out trying to sort alot of the nigs with the car! Yes there looks like a couple of "good" projects on ebay the bidding tends to go a bit haywire the last hour or so!
Cheers
