Any Gordon Keeble Owners Out There?
Discussion
God, you couldn't make it up, when he's in the UK he lives in Hamble, just off Green Lane. I can remember your car as a kid when he brought it, and his daughter, who is now my wife, to visit our family in Newcastle. She was 3 at the time, it's her first memory of any of his cars, she used to tell him to get it to " make that noise Daddy " when he took it through tunnels!
I went to the reunion at Eastleigh a couple of years ago, hoping it might turn up, and spoke to the guy who runs the register. He was the one who said he thought it was in Chichester.
What a small world!

Yep, will do, the offer of giving him a run out in it is much appreciated.........I was so stunned at how close it is now, I forgot to ask what sort of condition it was in when you finally managed to buy it, and where you're at with it now?
A colleague knew of the car, I had given him my business card to give to the chap with 'GK wanted' written on the back, 2 years later I got the call, its generally in very good condition, but also very dismantled, does seem to be largely complete. Last on the road in 94, some work undertaken by the GK Car Centre, then changed hands, not sure, maybe more than once, the chap I bought it from had it painted but wasn't happy with the job and so it stalled.Needs a lot of reassembly, an engine refresh plus whatever I find along the way.

I noticed you also have an E-type, do you happen to know Shaun Merrington at S&C Motors on Hound Road?
Not really, I know the place, he looked after a chums XJ6 many moons ago and I bought some bits from him when a family member mashed the front of an XJ40....it looks a complete tip inside tho!Yeah, it's an utter sty, but he really knows his stuff.....main dealers and other specialists ring him when they get stuck! My other half was his business partner when they set that up. I worked there when I first moved south 15 years or so ago, he and I were always at each others throats back then, but we've both mellowed a little with age and get on ok now. It was a bit of a change from the Lexus dealership I was used to in Newcastle!
Goodwood Breakfast "Club Tax Free Sunday" this Sunday, once I had the Paperwork, Ch76 cruised through the MOT without issue, so I'll be taking it along and ensuring there's a GK presence. Aiming to be there around 08:30am, will keep my eyes peeled for other GK's and familiar faces.

Breakfast Club 2013
The August (4th) event is Pre-'66 thoroughbreds, Ch81 and Ch88 attended last years Tax Free Sunday so maybe we can get a few more there, expect Huntsman will have his back on the road by then, too
