Sold the car but what next, importing a car? help...
Discussion
It drives me nuts, "good" news is I sold my car(also sad news because I love it) but want to try another car but what to choose? here some of the choices availeble in my price range when they are offered at a good price and I know some on sale;
1= Ultima GTR with a LS1 engine so more reliable(sadly RHD and in the UK)
no rearview and almost no lugage space , speedbumps? saldty roads?
2= Ford GT40 replica some nice ones on sale(sadly RHD and in the UK)
beautifull classic lines but strange doors(leak and parking problems) no lugage space.
3= Lotus Elise with around 330hp(have to build such one and mostly in Germany)
say I buy a Elise in Germany and do a Honda or Audi conversion plus Turbo
4= De Tomaso Pantera GT5S 1982(LHD and already in the Netherlands)
real classic and so old stuf? is it reliable? safe drive?
5= TVR Tuscan V8 1971 specialy build started as 71 vixen s2 with 4 cyll(LHD but in the USA)
This is a real beauty! and fast with 385hp nice classic but new parts!
6= Opel Speedster Turbo with 395ps! and 880kg(LHD and near by me!)
Very fast Speedster, but is it reliable anough? all new tuning stuff 0 to 200km/h in 11sec
7= BMW Hartge Z3M coupe with V8 and 430ps only one build by Hartge(its in the Swiss!)
very rare only one build by Hartge but its in the Swiss and I want something else for a
while just sold a M coupe(my third already in 5 years) so maybe save this one after my
next car
So what to do, problem is I can't handle to much paperwork or other stuff because of my braindamage so I have to watch out what I do or my head explodes best is a car out my own country the Netherlands thats easy but most are very expensive and/or not availeble, Germany I can go but never done such thing as getting a car from the UK? are there people who can do all the stuf for me? trusty people? I mean check the car and papers and take aal with them to my place and they or I can go throug the Dutch part(getting plates and stuf) the dutch part I can handle but not the UK part...thats to much for me sadly also the USA part(also you have to pay BTW and BPM) but I know a special TVR Tuscan V8 for a good price! and its from 1967 so not much to pay but who can get that all to the Netherlands in my garage??? help me out
Also now when I have the free money(after the 24jan or so) I want to do it good and not buying a "trouble" car
Thanks

Tuscan V8 gets my vote! All depends if its gonna be an everyday car I guess. If we're talking weekend car, then I reckon it would be soooo much fun. I got to see one in detail a couple of months back and witnessed it being flug around a private track by its experienced owner. It really is a car that seperates the men from the boys! The noise and pressence was just amazing.
Being in the USA shouldn't cause too many problems I wouldn't have thought. Importing seems to cost less than a grand these days, with a few papers to sign and stamp. Being left hand drive in mainland Europe is a good thing too and means it should sell easily too when its time for a change. Will also fit into a garage where as some cars on that list wont!
I wouldn't recommend anything like the Ultima though. When I had the Wedge in Holland last year, it hit every single speed ramp and cross road "hump". The novalty soon wore off, and I found myself driving around at snails pace just incase I hit one that I didn't see. I think any of those low, track-type cars would be a bad idea.

To be honest, the TVR V8 tuscan is also my favorit, very nice classic shape, big V8 grunt under the bonnet and lots of power to play with when you "need" it...
I have to speak again to the owner though because the car is not official on sale but he told me he would considder it because he buys a new toy too
But I'm afraid with what my brains can handle and also I've never imported a car from the states so...aaaaaaaaaaaahh
But its a rare oppertunity hope here is someone who can handle all that for me and bring such baby to my home I have a fine garage where it can rest at nights and i only drive my car in the weekends and a bit more but not daily, and that car has a lot new parts, and looks like new...I have some more pictures at home
And yeah I could sell that car easy when I want to sell it again overhere, there is a market for it...
Indeed those stoopid speedbumps I realy hate those! panda's en old or high cars race over them and people who are carefull with their special cars are very limited to enjoy driving that way...
So indeed I gues no Ultima...maybe thats a bit to much asking for trouble...

I'd go for the Opel . . . Effing why?! The Tusc is a pig to drive . . . you have to be a bloody premium pro to handle one. I saw the 240Z pissing on Tuscs at Spa. Phil says they're not easy on you: short wheelbase and heavy front, bloody 385 brake! Try to put down that power baby . . .
The Ford GT is awesome. With a hipo 327 it'll blow everything away and you'll be a Tunnel King. Dan is right about the Chims. I'd have one . . . Tunnel Run in Andrews Chim soon ;D
Of course I'll post the best bits here
