Hull Rotterdam ferry pricing

Yep, that's always been an expensive ferry.
You could also try Harwich to the Hoek (between Rotterdam and the Hague) http://www.stenaline.co.uk/ferry-to-holland
Failing that, Dover -> France is your best bet. The tunnel is the most convenient but usually the most expensive, Dunkerque is a slightly longer boat trip but shorter drive in Europe. Boulogne can be cheap but it's an extra 30 minutes drive wrt Calais. The tunnel has the advantage of spitting you our directly on the motorway and they go frequently so if you are early or miss your train, you don't have to wait long for an alternative.
Not that I've been travelling from NL <-> UK much or anything (3-4 times a year for 30 years I guess, or more. Gods it's a DULL drive)

£543 seems very expensive. I did this route just a few weeks ago, 1 car, 2 passengers and it was £400. Note we did hull-rotterdam on this occasion as newcastle-amsterdam was dearer still!
Regarding just driving from Yorkshire (or Scotland as I do) to Netherlands, you have to factor in each way: 1 additional tank of petrol (£80), 1 hotel night (£50) and dover-calais one way (£50). So only ~£90 cheaper each way.

There should have been more competition regarding Ferries from Hull.Somebody could run a day ferry crossing about twelve hrs.Leave 7 am arrive about 7 pm in Rotterdam.
Hull Ferry has always been expensive in my opinion.
350 pounds is to dear it isn't a holiday crossing River Humber Northsea and arrive Europoort.I used to enjoy the early crossings from Hull on the Melrose and Bolton Abbey. Not many passengers and a nice service. They where part cargo passengers ships.Arrived in the centre of Rotterdam alongside the Parkkade.Nostalgia.>;)

I booked with A Ferry on line £100 return car included. This is same day return to Rotterdam to see my sister. Nice clean cabin and breakfast coffee served for two pounds. What I don't follow, one extra day would have been £250 which is to expensive in my opinion. The crossing was on the pride of Rotterdam. The problem is some of the passenger having far to much alcohol and keeping people awake with their shouting. You can't blame the ships crew for some peoples behaviour. Some security on board to tell people to be quiet after midnight wouldn't go amiss.I will be going across more often for this price in the late and early season.Ten minutes drive from my house and twenty minutes drive in Rotterdam is worth it to the ferry.
