that would be great, I wondered if it would be like coming to a London airport and finding yourself at Stanstead

.. but you may find yourself taxi for a while as I think they use the new runway the otherside of the motorway. Yes you will taxi back over the motorway.

I think the record when I was flying there a few years back was about 25 minutes from landing to gate and we were moving for most of this !!

I'm sure there's been times when I've spent more time taxiing than flying.

Talking of Taxis, they are very expensive in the Netherlands, use the train unless you have no other choice.

Went to Amsterdam twice last year (from Leeds). First time with Jet2, second time with KLM. As others have said, you usually spend nearly as long taxiing as you do flying. The train station is down an escalator under the airport and it's a short ride to Amsterdam Centraal. Everyone I encountered was friendly and spoke perfect English. Schiphol is a strangely easy airport to find your way around - there doesn't seem to be any order to the place yet you suddenly find you're exactly where you wanted to be. It's cool smile Enjoy!

You can use a train taxi as a alternative to a train,i believe you have to prebook and share the taxi.Just a thought. No need to use taxis in the big citys, tram. metro and bus services are excellent.

Sorry I can't find a link I have been looking. The trein taxis are used more for the longer distances and are shared. There are Schiphol taxis don't know how much they charge but it has been mentioned taxis are expensive in the Netherlands.
