Hello Mini people,
My daughter has a 53 reg Mini Cooper, the trye pressure monitor is flashing, After looking on the interweb I have found the pressures to be 30PSI, is this correct? if not any ideas. Assuming that is correct where should I look as the indicator is still flashing. Thanking you in anticipation.

not sure what the pressures should be - there is a sticker inside the passenger side door that tells you I think, as far as the pressure warning goes - there is a reset button on the left by the handbrake - pressing it should make the warning go out.
f.y.i. The mini system doesn't actually monitor pressure as such - it checks the speeds the wheels are rotating at - if one is gong faster than the others then its a smaller diameter so must be flatter than the rest.......and you get a warning.

The correct tyre pressures are in the manual.
From what I've read the tyre pressure monitor does monitor the air pressure, and will flash if the pressure in one or more of the tyres changes considerably from what it was when the system was set.
According to the manual (you should read it, it's quite helpful) you should inflate the tyres to where they should be, and then reset the tyre pressure monitoring system using the button under the handbrake. Instructions are in the manual.

Dealer said that sometimes the switch gets dust / gunk in it as where its positioned it is prone to receiving dirt on it purley from the way its positioned.
They simply unplugged it and cleared it up and that fixed the warning sign.

Check you haven't got a nail in one of the tyres.
My wife's warning light came on while I was on holiday but the handbook implied she could carry on using it Ok for a few days. One good reason for keeping the run-flats.
We found a 4" nail in one tyre which had caused a sudden deflation that resealed itself so the light had come on.
The tyre didn't look out of shape - it was only checking the pressures that showed which tyre was low.
The alternative is noted above - my niece's Cooper kept showing the light and it was the switch itself playing up.
