Hi everyone. Has anyone had problems with the outside air temperature gage not working at all? The LCD display in the rev counter unit had gone blank!! The car still beeps at you once the outside air temp drops below 3 degrees, but displays nothing. Any help would be gratefully recieved.

Assuming the car's out of warranty, find yourself a respected indie and speak to them, they will probably know; if they do, (by all means pricecheck with OMC which could well show indie's price x 2 notwithstanding that the indie will be using genuine mini parts) reward them by getting them to do it.

If you were my way (which from Profiles you're obviously not) I'd point you towards Dave @ ThinkMini 01905 620011. He's dealing with my minor expansion tank problem this weekend....the one that my OMC has never come across, whereas I think Dave said they have replaced something like 8! Does me think why leave yourself prone to it being identified as a latent design defect when the just unlucky Customer can be told it's a one-off?

Does it display 2 dashes or absolutly nothing....Most common issue is the external temp sensor collecting water and going to short to earth.

If its displaying nothing at all then it could lie with the instrument cluster itself or the steering binacle (the one behind steering wheel is slave to the instrument cluster), so status requests need to be checked in the instrument cluster to see if its recieving input for the sensor.
