Hi there, the passenger side rear exhaust bracket is shot on my cooper S and i would like to change it myself. Anyone know the part number, or a supplier i can get one from. BMW quoted me over 100 pounds to replace it! It's only a metal clamp!

Cheers Niel,

Ive just spoken to BMW and its about 25 pounds. Better than the 100+ for them to supply and fix.

Matt,
If you need any bits in future you can find the part numbers on this site

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do

You can either type in part of your VIN or just select the model from the lists.

Then go here

http://www.cooper-mini-parts.co.uk/

put the part number in the box on the right and for most bits it'll give you a price. They do mail order too if you need it.

Hope this helps smile

Get the part off realoem as suggested, its dirt cheap, and go to your local garage or DIY (exact same happened to me! common problem, apparently)

Or you could fit a Milltek instead, no brackets required biggrin

Cheers for that guys. That is a very usefull link. Have now saved to favorites.

Not preprared to pay 4 x what the item will cost to have them put it on. Especialy when it looks like a common fail point.

You'd think they'd cotton onto it failing and strengthen the part. Maybe not a recall but most definately hold their hands up to a free/cheap replacement when it fails.

If the car was 10 years, i'd understand but mounts on my 20 year old TVR are putting them to shame!

Seems alot of companies are using crap mounts. My Clio 182's mounts were both shot which caused the exhaust major sagging, did a search and its a common problem. Ended up buying oem spec parts from CES UK which were cheaper than Renault and so far seem to be better quality.

I guess i shouldn't be surprised at Renault using cheap crap though really...it is after all a Renault lol
