Draft from steering column - Cooper Dsl

Hi
Now the cold weather is here i have noticed a really bad draft from the gap under my steering column - as if it is coming in direct from outside. Also i seem to get a lot of condensation inside the car. The steering column lock is fully on, so that's not the issue. Any ideas before I contact the dealership? It's 3 months old.

Sounds like a seal has broken or something along those lines. Get it back to your dealer and let them check it out. :-)

Chances are at some point its had a column and they havent pushed the baulk head grommet on the column in properly.

if you look at the bottom of the column...where your feet go is the big black rubber grommet atatched to the floor or loose.or has the plastic peice come out of the centre of it?

Thanks for your advice - will call the dealer and get them to investigate!
