Tyre Pressures - 18" JCW
Discussion
Morning all,
thanx for the welcome and the heads up from my initial post, which helped me to purchase JCW chequered mats and chrome wing mirror caps from Cotswold BMW at a reasonable price. Whilst on the phone I spoke to a really helpful guy at length about my new toy ('04 JCW Cooper S with loads of extra kit) who was happy to answer all of my questions. I'm hoping my local dealership (Elms - Cambridge) will be as friendly and informative?
Anyway, to the point; my car has 18" JCW Star Spoke wheels with run flat tyres. Was wondering if anyone else was running the same combination and if so, what tyre pressures you use/would advise? (The official handbook only caters for rims up to 17" )

Thanks for the reply 118.
I spoke to a couple of JCW folk who told me the pressures were the same for 18" as 17".
I don't understand the science and always assumed that different widths and/or profiles meant different tyre pressures?
What was more surprising was the so called 'experts' not knowing off the top of their heads and having to go away and look them up? I was also assuming that the larger rims would mean smaller tyre pressures as on my Noble, where the pressures are a surprisingly low 18F and 26R (not sure what that is in Bars?)
Happy now and enjoying the Mini, with bouts of GTO 3R thrown in for good measure
All the best,
Al
