Is it supposed to do this?!?!?!
Discussion
this morning i went out to my 02 mini one to give it a small service and check odds and sods. i grabbed the front wheels (when positioned straight) and twisted them left to right (clockwise/anti-clockwise) and to my suprise the whole wheel and brake setup moved with it. does anyone know if this is supposed to happen or is something not quite right? taking into consideration it has jsut passed its MOT? someone please help!
thank you

If you mean that you moved the wheels as if steering left or right then yes, you would see the brake disks and clipers moving, as the hubs/disks/calipers are all mounted on the same assembly. If you mean you rotated the wheels as if going forwards or backwards then the disks will rotate too, but if the calipers rotate you have a serious problem!
checking oil and water however is not rocket science, i only noticed it when i was checking my tyre pressure, and not coming across this on any other car threw me slightly
decided it best to ask the experts, after all....who knows what those crazy germans do with their cars these days

Pop your wife in it, and ask her to nip onto the motorway and give it a quick test run.....

Should give you enough time to pop upstairs and find that insurance documentation.
