hi all, hope someone can help me cos I'm kind of new to the mini world, me and our lass had a ride down to derby at the weekend to buy her first car, its a 02 pure silver mini one, with a john cooper works kit on and the 17" new version of the old mini lites. driving back up i realised that BMW have made a cracking looking motor, reliable and funky, and very cleverly kept a lot of essence from the original (knowing this cos my first cos was a t reg mini when i was 17) it's still a road going go-cart.
anyway, the reason for my post is, on Sunday night when i put the lights on i realised that they were both facing down to the ground instead of in front, on finding the button thing to adjust the angle of the dipped headlights it was apparent that it does not work and the lights do not move, does any one have any suggestions what this could be. all help is greatly appreciated. cheers, adam.

If shes got xenons they'll be self adjusting when you turn them on but they can go out of adjustment:

You need to open the bonnet and look behind the light cluster - you'll find an adjuster on each light. Park it up against the wall and turn the lights on and fiddle till both are level and at the required height. Had to do this after the coilovers went onto mine - easy job matey... let me know if you cant find it and I'll try and get a pic of where it is. Or try MINI2.com - probably a thread on there somewhere with pics already

if its got an adjuster in the cockpit (my old 51 cooper did) then try it anyway or get the stealer to sort it.

I have had a few where one of the wires in the connector for the light adjuster switch(down to your right)has broken because the wiring is to tight.
You can check this as the switch just pops out(small screw driver to lever)
