Posting on behalf of a colleague of mine - he has a Cooper S and, as the title suggests, is looking for a s/exhaust - one that doesn't boom and sound 'chav'-like. Any suggestions?? Haven't done a search but hopefully some people can come up with a short-list.

Also, he wants to know of any recommended tuning companies near Brands Hatch area??

Thanks in advance.

Go for the Play mini better quality and sounds fine only noisy when opened up.Costs a bit more than the Miltek but you get what you pay for.

Lohen, GTT, minimania - they'll all have various to put on but i thnk you'll be lucky to find a MINI specialist in kent. TBH, its not a difficult job if your not replacing the manifold - its only a few bolts.

If you are replacing the mani then Rolands at GTT is excellent (i've got one), and Lohen also do the milltek - which isnt too loud. Ive had a LOT of stuff from them and they are very reliable.

Heres a clip of mine (bear in mind I've also got the JCW exhaust and had the centre resonator removed. CAT is currently still in but comes out for track days. dB at goodwood last time was 86dB.

nice well i was sat behind for most of south downs but was a dam good sound track may only have a cooper but i think i might go for lohens milteck and janpseed combination as the milteck/milteck on nick car sounded amazing but the janspeed is supposed to make it even raspier
