Just sold my Cerbera and have treated myself to an 02 Cooper S as a replacement toy. Should be picking it up on Saturday and I'm quite excited. Obviously, it'll not be as rapid as the Cerb, but I'm hoping it'll feel nippier and easier to drive quickly.

Is there anything I should be looking out for on the car when I pick it up which would indicate future problems? Don't really know my way around these cars and don't know quite what I'm looking at, but I have a sound mechanical knowledge and can check the obvious things.

Just remembered, I'll have to update my profile.

Look forward to posting stupid questions and hopefully grinning like a loon again.

Welcome to the MCS.

Apart from the standard full service history, check that all the recalls have been done.

I bought a 52 plate MCS last christmas and have had quite a few problems with the electrics, so possibly check them out.

Does it come with a TLC pack? That will be a lifesaver for you.

It's got 1 voucher of the TLC left. Is it possible to extend it, or once the five year one is up, is that it.

You can extend it for up to 8 years. They will probably send you the info once your 5 years is up.

Hope you enjoy the MCS, it puts a big grin on my face daily (normally when some ponce in a BMW, Jag, Vectra tries to go around a corner at the same speed I do biglaugh )
