Hi,

I have a Mini One and wondered if anyone could help me out with a number of things. Firstly, to pull away without stalling, you seem to need to give it an awful lot of revs?? Is this common with most mini's/mini one's??

Secondly, has anyone used Lohen and purchased the ECU Upgrade?? Just wanted to know if this product actually does what it says? Does it invalidate the warranty? Is it harmful to the engine etc... Any information regarding it would be much appreciated.

I only find I have to do this if Air Conditioning is switched on.

Hi,

I tuened the Air Con off and it did make a difference. It seems that the Mini One is slightly under powered so the Air Con reduced the amount of power. Does anyone know if the ECU Remap from Lohen will help this?

I have a Cooper S and the same applies. Doesnt need high revs, but the pickup is laggy.

My old Mini one suffered horribly if the Air Con was on. If it's on tick over then I found that I could pull away normally. Anything higher and the car really did struggle to pull away. The same applies to my Cooper S so I think it's a generic 'Mini' thing.

According to a friend (don't wholly believe him), the air con is bolted directly onto the engine and small cars suffer as they don't have enough power to drive the AC while the car is pulling away. Hence the battle between pulling away and the AC dipping in performance until you have motion. But take that with a LARGE pinch of salt.

Hi,

Thanks for that. I definitely notice the difference if I turn off the air con!

Also, I'm interested in the ECU Remap from Lohen? Has anyone got any information on them.. good or bad?!

Thanks for the info guys!

Yea the air-con thing is sooo annoying. If I forget it's on and try pulling away quickly... eeewwww help!

Definitly report back if the superchips remap is good.

Hi,

Yeh I've heard a lot of good things about them which is why I was a little disappointed... though also heard that from time to time, the wrong map is programmed in so just needs superchips to sort them, but otherwise once it works its meant to make a hell of a difference. Going up there on Monday, so will def report back. You get a full refund within 7 days, so if worse comes to worse I'll just get my money back and look into other options!

Cheers

I may be trying to sell BBR products but you are out of my area. I sugest you take a close look at them as they seem to be very clued up on them at the moment. And BBR have a few years more experiance than Lohen in the tuning market

Hi,

Thanks for the info, if I have no luck with Superchips, may look into BBR.
