ECU Remaps

Would I be right in assuming these invalidate the warranty?

I'm considering the Bluefin remap by Minispeed for a Cooper S. If it invalidates the warranty however I may aswell just go Stage 1.

Anyone know? How would BMW servicing know if I did it? Plug a laptop in and its obvious?
