Mini Cooper f55 B38 2014 Bonnet stuck closed
Discussion
Hi , I have been working on my car today doing some prepping for a job however after closing the bonnet I have now found it won’t open fully …
On first pull of the lever I lit opens the passenger side but not drivers I can hear it click but I also don’t get the chime you get when pulling a second time , I have not had any issues previously …
After giving up and trying to work out what could have happened and wound down a bit the only thing I think could have happened is the black cable box in the photo was moved then pushed back in so it looks like I may have done something however I am still stuck as how can open the bonnet to have a look any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks

I've done so many of these
You can usually get through the light access panels with a long screwdriver and pop the catches manually, if not you just have to take the wheel off on each side and take the arch liner out to do so
Usually the catches need greased, one of the cables have come out of the 'splitter' box that you've pictured or the cable in the car has snapped...it's not unknown for the 'claw' in the back of the plastic release handle to snap either

Quick update managed to get to the cable via the arch liner and noticed that the cable was detached which i must have dislodged while working near the area yesterday ...
Once i could grab the cable i managed to open the bonnet and re attach the cable and all is fine now one thing i would advice if anyone as the same issue is make sure you have a good torch ..
