2024 mini bonnet stripe problems

Hi all

The wife's 24 plate min i cooper S has the black bonnet stripes. I came to clean it this weekend and there are tiny white spots all over the stripes.

It looks fine paint splatter, as if someone has been painting nearby and tiny wind born spots have landed on the car.

I know its not what i have just described as there are no spots on the car it is just on the 2 black bonnet stripes.

I have tried with various polishes, Auto-glym etc. but it is definitely a problem within the vinyl.

Is this a fault with the vinyl stripes, maybe breaking down in some way ?

Anyone had similar. For a car that is still under warranty this should not be happening. It looks awful as well.

If it is a fault with the stripes they will replace them under warranty. We had stripes replaced after 2.5 years when the top coat started to peel off.

Are they (bad decription here) tiny stone/debris chips?

My F56 has dark grey/black stripes and they are as you describe. I assume soft vinyl peppered by normal road debris, bugs etc

Worth trying for a replacement, if not they are only a few quid to replace.
