F57 Cooper Convertible - Trade Up to an 'S' OR JCW?
Discussion
We currently have an 2016 F57 Cooper Convertible and are looking to change to an 'S' or perhaps a JCW (2018 - 2020 vintage)
Not fussed on staying with a convertible
Is there much difference in the Cooper and the 'S' from a handling and performance point of view?
Does the 'S' suspension feel much (if any) harder on the road?
I'm thinking the JCW is going to be quick, but the trade off will be a much harder suspension and a ride that We might tire of quickly?
Thanks

I had an F56 JCW hatch on adaptive dampers and whilst it was firm, it wasn't uncomfortable or noisy.
It offered really strong performance, but I actually enjoyed needing to work my Cooper S a touch more. The balance of power to handling balance felt more equal. My Cooper S was the smaller R58 but I still think I'd suggest driving a Cooper S first - if it hits the spot then you save money, and probably have more choice.
Nothing to stop you remapping the Cooper S, or upgrading to JCW, in the future.
