F56 Intelligent Adaptive Suspension V Koni Special Active
Discussion
2018 Cooper S looking at improving the ride (already got Michelin PS4's on 17" wheels) and had good experience with Koni FSD's on a R56 Cooper S
. The FSD's have been replaced by Koni special active dampers, MINI seem to have taken note of these and introduced IAS on newer S models as a no cost option.
Any one got a mini with this who has a comparison to standard suspension on a cooper s (3 door).
Reviews have generally been good(for comfort) so could be an alternative to the Koni's and would be sticking with Mini OEM parts assuming are a simple swap for the existing dampers on my car.
If anyone has it any chance of a part no from IAS dampers so I can check them out on REALOem for fit
Thanks

You'll have the issue of having IAS dampers but no electronics to make them work? I had a play with RealOEM and found them on this page. The FSD's have been replaced by Koni special active dampers, MINI seem to have taken note of these and introduced IAS on newer S models as a no cost option.

Item 1 is the strut but item 2 is the electrical gubbins for the top, I couldn't find that connector on the electrical diagrams though. It won't be just as simple as changing to the IAS ones I'm afraid.
Thanks csd19 - looks as if the realoem page referred to is for cars pre 2019- these had VDC which is the electronic option. The IAS was not introduced till about 2022 this is note from top gear magazine dated Jan 24
The Intelligent Adaptive Suspension is standard on the Sport trim Cooper and Cooper S and a £400 option elsewhere. It actually ditches the electronic damping of old so may sound like a backwards step, but Mini has replaced it with a mechanical setup that remains stiff in normal driving, but reacts quickly and is far better at dealing with bigger jolts, sending less shudder through the cockpit and making the Hatch feel more grown up as a result.

So anyone got a mini with the IAS who can get a part no from the dampers on their car?
