The insurance on our 2019 3-door Cooper S hatch is due for renewal next month and I'm just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for an insurer offering competitive rates on these cars?

I'm currently with Churchill and last year the premium was £238 fully comp (mature drivers, maximum no claims, clean licences, low risk area, car garaged, £250 total excess). However, despite no change in circumstances Money Supermarket are suggesting a figure about £100 higher; that's an increase of over 40% and, while I know premiums have gone up, that still seems hefty to me! So any suggestions as to who might offer a more competitive quote or is circa £340 where I'm likely to be?

In my experience, insurance on mainstream cars is such a personal thing, all you can do is shop around.

Yes, that's fair comment; was really just wondering if anyone's had any joy with an insurer and/or specialist broker who doesn't tend to get listed on the comparison websites.

Just to update this, I've now had my renewal and it's come out at £267. Ordinarily I'd be muttering about an increase of 12% but to be honest this has almost come as a pleasant surprise so I think I'll just let it renew and not invest any further time in shopping around!

I think you’ve done ok there in all honesty. Motor insurance has gone crazy in the last year or so. I’ve got an Admiral multi car policy and that went up over £200 for both cars. Think the Mini part of the policy went up £50 over last year.

Similar situation here. I actually think Minis are very cheap to insure given the price, performance etc...

Price looks fair. Not entirely sure that the service from Churchill is the best around though although I have never claimed from them.

I moved to LV after a neighbour wrote off his Seat insured with LV and they were brilliant at handling the claim and offered him more money than he wanted.

I have been with LV for five years on a Golf GTI, they even gave me 10% back during Covid, without my asking for it, because the annual mileage was much reduced.
