Clubman JCW spec questions
Discussion
I'm looking at Clubman JCWs as a potential next car. I test drove one last week and it was a fun drive and sounded great. It had a Remus exhaust system though. I want to make sure I get the spec right. Interested in MY2020 cars on <30,000 miles.
Now I've had a MINI before; a 2018 Countryman PHEV which I really liked. It had JCW seats that were terribly uncomfortable mainly because they did not tilt and were very hard. What are the best seats and are they electrically adjustable/memory seats?
I've not seen any with adaptive cruise control. Was this available as an option?
Is there much of a difference in ride between 18" and 19" wheels? Whats the OEM fit tyre (non-runflat)?
I want Navigation Plus, Harman Kardon speakers, HUD, pano roof and adaptive suspension. What are the other must-have options?
Thanks!

Our 2020 Clubman JCW had the standard JCW seats and I found them really good, they do have the tilt adjustment and upper leg pull out like M Sport BMW seats. The only electric memory seats I think you can get is on the lounge leather which is a very rare option.
As far as I know adaptive cruise wasn't an option either.
Never drove one with 19's as ours had 18" on Pirelli P Zero from factory.
I would want sun protection glass also. Our car was a 70 plate 2020 car and not long after adaptive suspension become standard spec.

Good call on the privacy protection glass. Shame about ACC. Wasn't aware later cars had adaptive suspension as standard so that's good to know.
I couldn't find the tilt on the car I test drove (and my Countryman definitely didn't have it, although it did have the leg pullout). Maybe I didn't look hard enough as that would be a game changer.

ACC was an option as it’s included in the Driver Assistance Pack.
Seat base certainly doesn’t tilt if you have the Lounge leather. I’d recommend you try the JCW seats as I found them very hard.
Ride on 18s is much better than 19s and I’d suggest trying to find a car with adaptive suspension. Even with it the ride is fairly firm.
Personally, I think they’re quite colour sensitive, especially with the 18s and look best in a contrasting colour. Black 18” wheels on a black car look tiny to me.
Stripes on the side help to break up the side profile which can look a bit weird from certain angles.
I like the digital dash but it’s not really digital and doesn’t offer much over the analogue cluster.
Sunroofs have a habit of rattling unless the blind is in a particular position.
Enhanced interior lighting is nice and should be standard really.
Heated windscreen is handy.
I’ve got a Tesla Model 3 on order but still debating whether I should sell mine or not. The best of the new MINIs in my view.
