2019 Countryman All4 - Water under the boot

OH keeps spare winter jackets in the storage bin under the boot floor. She removed them yesterday and they were all completely soaked. Way more than a little condensation. Is this a common issue with the Countryman? Has anyone seen similar? It does do occasional fording/flooded roads, and I know it isn't a Land Cruiser, but surely not unreasonable to expect that it is at least watertight, no? She's certainly not been in anything deeper than the boot seal.

I doubt it is relevant to your issue, but I suspect that would be well above the Mini Countryman wading depth,

Rear light seals would be where I’d start. I’d also check there isn’t anywhere wet forward of the boot.

The water does seem to be limited to the under boot floor storage. Nothing in the cabin.
