R56 boot leak

Hello,
Daughter has just arrived home and shown me her water filled boot. Standing water under the tool/jack holder thing. The three rubber bungs look ok.

Is this a common issue (to add the other many issues these cars seem to have!) and is there an easy fix?

Yes, mine did it too (no longer have the car). Very common problem with that age. I ended up cleaning the boot, then wrapping it in a couple large recycling bags once dry because I had that awful rotten smell. Cured the smell but not the leak. Have a google, I can't remember where it came in through.
