Need some bars for our F60 Countryman. They will probably be fitted long term. And these seem like they may fit the bill. The only concern I have is the pan roof. And whether it may foul against the bars. Anybody have any experience.

Also will my Thule 591 cycle carrier fit them ?

Most Countrymans have roof rails which will help elevate the Yakima bars even more. I have a pano roof on the Passat and have no problems using the vent function with the roofbars on. Does the Countryman pano roof lift out and rearwards when open? if so you might encounter clearance problems.

Will the Thule 591s fit. Yes, and you probably want to use the T-Track bolts. You can buy different sized T-Track bolts - when I had the official MINI Clubman roofrack, the Thule bolts were 20mm x 20mm and I think I needed 22mm x 20mm.

Buy online from somewhere like roofbox.co.uk and return if they don't clear.

Appreciate the detailed reply thanks. And yes the car does have raised rails. But as you pointed out the pan roof does open and go rearwards. Hence my concerns. I think you are correct about the T bolt measurement of 20 x 20mm. But as you suggest I will check all of this with roofbox.

Thanks again.

I bought from roofbox a Thule roof box and Cruz aero bars, for a different car, and they were good to deal with especially pre sale.

If you’re ok with second hand, buying the bars from eBay and then buying the correct fitting/smart foot kit is a good way to reduce cost.
Roofbox list the kit No. if you go through the product filter to find yours.

Roofbox.com are a decent company. Purchased 5 sets of racks and a roof box. Be aware that if you need to return them then it’s costly. I sent one set back as I ordered the wrong ones and I’m sure it cost me more than £40.
Make sure what you’re ordering is correct.

So I ordered a set of Yakima S44Y low profile whispbars from Roofbox. And following a test fit I think they will be brilliant. Once fitted this weekend I will take some pics and post them. Thanks to all for replying and offering advice.

Sorry I forgot to update.

So they fit perfect with no problems with the opening pan roof. Even with roof bars. Quality is easily as good as Thule.
