'72 Countryman steering
Discussion
Hi all, this might just be because I'm not used to front wheel drive cars, but the Countryman Cooper S we got ( on run flats ) has significant torque steer when going to overtake or accelerate hard. It doean't really have the power to justify it so wondered if anyone else experienced it or if I should be looking at allignment/changing to proper tyres.
Mine torque steers a little with a very heavy right foot or sometimes surface/weather conditions, but like most fwd cars you have to drive around it and i don’t find it an issue tbf
Mine isn’t on the hateful runflats and is on 17” rims although that is countered by having A/S tyres which aren’t as sharp as UHP Summer’s it work amazingly in the wet and cold
Suppose it depends on what you’ve come from as to how you notice the difference
Bear in mind it’s a heavy car and if you’ve passengers in the rear that will exacerbate the problem
