Hi folks. I have searched for this but with no luck. My wife has just bought a 2019 Mini cooper and it only came with 1 key. Is this a main dealer issue only or are there alternatives? We should have the logbook in her name in the next day or two so want to organize a second key asap. I am not keen on paying BMW over £200 just for a key if it is avoidable. We are in the Merseyside area if that makes a difference.

Thanks

Cheers

Brian

You should have 2 keys, if not get the suppling dealer to get you one!

It is main dealer only.

And I suspect more than £200.00.

Doubt you can go back to the dealer if you purchased it knowing there was only one key

It will be a lot cheaper to get a spare, lose the only key and it becomes very expensive

Just get one from the dealer, they normally come coded and just work with no faffing.

Trade sources are showing remotes are available 2019 - 2022. A lot cheaper than £200, so I suspect they are available in the aftermarket at sensible prices.
