Clubman Cooper S (2.0) 2014-2016
Discussion
Have been looking into a second family car that's small/medium in size, would predominantly be used as my commuter but needs to also be capable of taking the family when needed.
Can't quite stretch to a JCW unfortunately, but I see you get a Cooper S with JCW trim, is this worth having?
I'm going to need to retrofit Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, I see you can get a kit from the likes of SCP to retrofit it in, has anyone any experience with doing this?
Had been looking into mk3 Focus ST estates as they seem to balance practicality and fun to drive, but they get rubbish MPG which led me to the mini, I'll take it on a run over 40mpg is more than achievable as well as being fun to drive?
On a practicality side, anyone else in a similar situation, plenty space in the boot for a buggy and child seat in the back? We've gone for a Bugaboo Fox5 which seems on the larger side, so if I need to get a smaller foldable travel buggy for this car I can do that if need be.
I've read about some cars having driving modes, with sports mode making the exhaust a bit more fruity? How do I tell if the car has this from the pictures in the ad? Is there a go to exhaust that keeps the refinement but adds a little more drama to proceedings?
Just trying to get a feel for if this is a viable option or not, so any experiences or things to look out for would be greatly appreciated. Would love an earlier Clubman JCW but the lack of 5 doors unfortunately puts and end to that.
Thanks for any help.

I had a similar train of thought and needed a 3 day commuter and back up family car. Already have a family wagon and a weekend car so opted for a plain 1.5 Countryman auto and added all the black trim bits myself. I barely use all the power in the 1.5 on my commute so don't feel short changed. The only options I have are digital climate but I'd spec the LED lights and false boot floor if I'd buy again.
