Morning All,

I need to source a set of Discs/Pads/Sensors for Mums JCW.

It appears OEM is Brembo, which I'm happy to stick with, or change, but can anyone point in the right direction
of where I can get everything in one place?

Looked a multi-sourcing, but struggling to tie down part numbers for ensure I get the correct ones.

Thanks

Scott

Eurocarparts should have the full set for you, and a choice of brands.

Maybe try the usual Mini tuners;
MiniSport
Lohen
1320 etc
there are plenty of specialists who may have genuine or suitable replacement disks and pads.

Interested in owners experiences with the OEM discs on a F56 JCW - we have owned ours since new in 2016, car has done 13k miles and needs its second set of replacement discs because the back of one is like a crinkle crisp, not joking. So that’s three sets of discs the car has been through in 13k miles and it hasn’t even been driven that hard as it’s my wife’s car. I was planning on replacing the OEM ones with Brembo’s but if they are actually what BMW fit then I’m going to try something else…

Incredible our car is 2018 done 18k miles, only just replaced tyres and still on original discs and pads with loads of life, I expect between 25-30k out of them. The car gets driven hard occasionally and a mixture of town and fast A roads.
Do you leave the car laid up after washing as this can kill discs prematurely? Always take car for a drive after washing to dry discs

13k miles sounds very low for it to be needing it's third set of discs.

Are you actually experiencing vibration/grumbling under braking or is this just what the garage 'advises'? The other possibility is under use, 13k miles is sub 2k per annum over 7 years, so the discs might corrode in between use that cleans them up.

Interesting thanks - I always take the car for a drive after washing though where we live is definitely one of the wetter parts of the UK, maybe there is something in that. However, we also have a base Fiesta and an S4 Avant - neither of those have had any disc related problems nor have our previous cars.

Not noticing any vibration through the pedal yet but the car has a separate issue which I will post about later - when I had it jacked up looking into that issue I decided to feel check the discs myself and that’s when I noticed how bad they were. Offside much worse than drivers side but both have the same problem on the inside of each disc.

Photo of the inside of the worst front disc, no idea how it got into this state.

I changed mine recently, I went for Zimmermann discs and TRW pads, got them from autodoc, total price £206. They look identical to the brembo and oem discs so you don’t really know for sure if they are any different, only by the box they come in.

Anyway all good and cured my poor pedal so somehow the old disc and pads that only looked half worn were st

I purchased some Zimmerman discs but need them quickly so ended up with some Borg & beck as a stopgap

They have been really good and look far better 18 months later than the normal brembo that I had used previously

I swapped out my OEM discs and pads to Tarox. It’s been working well so far.
