F56 JCW tyres?

Have a F56 JCW with 18x7 standard wheels wearing Dunlop Runflats 205/40 18 tyres, car has standard sport suspension.
Looking to ditch runflats and fit 215/40 PS4s all round, anyone done this without problems no spacers no rubbing etc and any advantages/disadvantages over 205/40 apart from being cheaper (about £150 for 4) and slightly wider giving marginal better grip!

I have another 2008 mini (from new) and I bought a set of new OE16" wheels and new runflats for £300 (a while back obvs), then put none run flat winters on them (£65 each) and kept the run flats in the loft. I think the car got to about 60,000 miles by swapping out the 3 sets which was great cheap motoring and driving a Mini in the snow on a good set of winter tyres is comedically good.
Plan B - buy a set of lightly used 17s and fit none run flat winters on the JCW and keep the (now corroding OE ) wheels for "best"?

I went from the standard 205/40/18 Dunlop runflats on my 2019 JCW to 215/40/18 Michelin PS4's and no rubbing issues or anything.
I don't tend to drive it with the accelerator through the fire wall so can't comment greatly regarding any potential increase in road holding, but the ride is definitely better with the more-compliant side walls.

Dunlop SP Sport Maxx Oobster?
How would you rate the difference in ride between the two?
I'd like to go the other way and switch from non RFT Michelin Primacy 3 17" to Sportmaxx RFT but am slightly concerned about the ride.
My winter tyres are RFTs and they are not really much worse than the summer non RFTs.

Anyone looking for tyres ATS are doing a good deal on them at the moment!
Check the tyre pressure sticker on your car/in the manual as there is likely a car option that should use that tyre size.Anyone looking for tyres ATS are doing a good deal on them at the moment!

1) There is no listing for 215/40/18 as that isn't an OEM size
2) The recommended Mini tyre pressures (even if they were listed for this size) are ridiculously high, often 40+ psi in the front which IMO isn't required. Not quite sure why Mini recommends such huge pressures, I suspect it's to suit the OEM runflat tyres and/or emissions reasons.
I have fitted 215/40/18 Eagle F1 Asymmetric to my JCW, with a reasonable pressure of ~34 psi all round.
For 205/40 R18 Mini recommends 46/44 psi which is crazy high. I was running 42/40 but even then it felt high and I got 2 bulges after hitting potholes.
Tyre fitter recommend running 36/35 so I've been running that for the past week without issue.
I need to adjust the Clubman also as recommended is 39/32 psi but the feels off to me, too much torque steer and floaty so will try bringing the front down to 35.

That sounds sensible. Is the tyre wearing uniformly across the tread at that pressure?I can't understand why Mini officially recommends absurd tyre pressures, 44-48psi on the front of a small and relatively light hatchback?! Ride and comfort goes through the floor at these pressures.
Currently running Dunlop Sportmax runflats that came on the car from the factory on ,pressures in manual say 49/44 but I have been running when warm around 44/39 for the last 17k and they have been ok. The Michelin tyres are non RFL so I assume a lower pressure so 36/34 or even lower is my thinking, even the Porsches I have owned which were similar weight or heavier etc only run on 32/30 as I recall!

This sounds right to me with maybe slightly lower for the rear 34/32 ? Have you tried this ? Obviously there is only one or two of us in the car but with more people in the car they would need to be 34 all round
