Hi,

I have just changed the pads and sensors on our mini countryman 21 plate. Is there any way to reset the brake pad warning notification without having access to a diagnostic unit?

Any options gratefully received.

Thanks
Sam

Thank you very much for the link I had no idea that button was there. It brings up a different menu for me which seems difficult to access as pressing that button again just cycles through some options rather than the different elements (brakes, oil, etc....)

I am wondering if uk models are different?

Did you fit new sensors with the new pads & discs?

Did you change because the old ones brought on the pad warning?

Yes the rear brake pad warning notification came up so I changed the pads and put in new sensors.

Just struggling to reset the warning notification now.

Depending on the car, they sometimes reset themselves after a short time.

Google your specific car if there is a reset procedure I am sure you will find it.

Alternatively, check your manual as there are normally 3 different types (pads, fluid level, handbrake) of warning light & you may be trying to clear something that isn't healthy.

This worked for me a couple of years ago on a 2018 Clubman
Reset Mini Brake pad message

press start button to first stage of ignition (do not start engine)

Wait for red brake sensor warning to disappear

press odometer and hold (about 15 - 20 seconds)

Hey presto you have the reset menu

Now just press and hold

Then press and hold again to reset.

If it doesn't work then reset the odometer to zero and try again.

This will not work without the sensor being changed which is a 10 min job that anyone can do. just take the wheel off and its there but only on one side.

Thanks very much @sw67 that worked a treat. Took me a while to find the reset button on the countryman screen but all sorted.

Thanks very much for the advice.
