R50 and R53 wheels interchangeable?

Does anyone know if R50 and R53 16 and 17 inch wheels can be interchanged without issue?

I have seen some used 16 inch spider wheels like these below and wondered of they would fit an R53 without fouling in any way?

Should be 4x100 fitment so yup will fit

If you haven't noticed the calipers being upgraded yet then they won't have been.

They would be FOB red things to get 16" wheels to not fit where 17s were.

The R53 will also fit 15’ pepper pot wheels from the Mini one. The only issue is if the R53 has the upgraded R56 calipers.

Correct, & that issue is for the 15s only, 16s are fine with r56 calipers/discs.

Yes, if the car is standard. R50 and R53 have the same brakes as standard apart from the later JCW cars and the JCW GP. All the same PCD though. All the OEM 16" and 17" wheels will fit all standard R50s and R53s.

I specced my first MCS in 2003 with those wheels. They will fit, assuming no brake mods.
