Mini Countryman Cooper S Oil Pressure gauge

Has anybody out there successfully fitted an oil pressure gauge in a Mini Countryman Cooper S N18 engine. Gauge is easy. However the oil pressure switch is mounted on the oil cooler casing below the oil filter. Best access appears to be from underneath, but still very fiddley, and some serios removals to get at it. Is there a simpler solution ?
