I have just bought a 2014 Mini Cooper. I will want to leave it unused for up to 6-months at a time.

Is it OK to disconnect the battery for long periods, I am assuming that all the data it holds in memory is non-volatile?

It'll be fine, if being stored in a garage I'd put it on a trickle charger.

Sadly a trickle charger is not a possibility. The car will be in undercroft parking in a block of apartments so no power point to connect to..
