Slip ring problem ?

My other half as a mini cooper 2017 which has recently developed a few fault messages.
Cruise control fault, speed limiter fault, are the 2 items that show. These disappear after a few seconds or when you press reset but until then the controls on the steering wheel, volume etc, do not work.
Did a little research on the T'internet and this seems quite a common problem. Most suggest it is the slip ring under the steering wheel which is at fault.
Anybody had this problem and whats the Dealer cost to have it sorted.
