Reset Emission Inspection Message

Greetings

Wife's Mini Countryman (2021) has popped up the message that the emission inspection service is required as its 12 months since purchase, its also set for every 12 months.

I have found out that the date can be set by the dealer and the dealer wants £48 to run a diagnostic although the engine emission light has never appeared.

Have been through the service menu using the trip button etc but no reference to resetting the emission message.

Anyone had the same message?.

It is under warranty, surely any fault/investigation is covered?

Sorted it.

It pops up the message on the display, you access the message it then shows the date Apr 2022 you can then scroll to a new year (2026) hit return job done.

Looking at the manual it states that an service emission test must be completed after 5 years which makes no sense as it will be completed at every MOT after 3 years

This looks like the supplying dealer may have modified the date so that they can maybe make a little extra i.e. £50 for a diagnostic when not required.

Glad you sorted it, but it would be worth checking what it entails because an MOT just checks whether the car is emitting what it should, it does not check how it is doing it, how efficiently it is doing it & if there are any building issues that could be sorted before they become expensive, at a guess.
