Mini Countryman 2.0 Diesel - engine woes

Afternoon .

Darling daughter has a 2012 Countryman with 2.0 diesel. Done 62,000 recent service but yesterday it broke down on her commute to work.

Straight away the 1st AA guy said its timing chain. 2nd AA guy who recovered her said it needs a new engine. Would rather get a more expert opinion however. Are there any recommendations for a suitable garage around the Norfolk area?
Tried Anglia Mini Centre in Kings Lynn and they flatly refused as it 'could' be a warranty claim.

If it's snapped the chain at speed then you'll be very lucky if it doesn't need a new engine, best case the engine can be rebuilt but most garages will just drop a recon engine in as it's easier.
