Does anyone do autotests with a BMW Mini? Wondered how they perform ?

Looking at returning to low key cheapish motorsport and autotests are a good starting point given lack of circuits in far north west England.

I'm using an R50 Mini Cooper for Targa rallies, which often have tests similar to autotests.

I would say go for it - pump the rear tyres up as hard as you dare. The only thing I've found is that it's a little unpredictable when losing rear end grip on the handbrake, but that might be because mine has a 2" lift and adjustable rear arms - suitable for rougher surfaces. And if you have a 5 speed Midland gearbox, buy a spare one! Or get a 6 speed conversion.

There's a facebook group called R50 Competition Department which is very useful.

Some photos just for fun!

Thanks for your reply…6 speed box a necessity although autotests usually only need first gear lol
