Hi Although pleased with my clubman I’m regretting not sticking to diesel. I went to look at a 3 door diesel with the new dct gearbox on Saturday at a Mini dealership. Unfortunately for me the car had issues amongst them the service history. When I checked the history on the car one of the services was in orange saying completed 5 months late! Obviously this could be due to Covid when dealers were only servicing key workers vehicles but it just set the alarm bells ringing for me especially as the car would be on finance.
Any thought on this?

Can you check the service date against mileage? Are the diesels every 2 years or 18k like the petrols?

Hi yes the service was time based not mileage so it had not had a oil change for 2.5 years so amongst other issues it was not the car for me.

I think if it was at a Mini dealership you should be ok and maybe get a letter from them confirming. PCP your ok if you purchase the car with the late service. I would only worry myself if the car had done a ton if miles.

I agree all my vehicles got serviced late through covid so it wouldn't worry me at all especially if when it did get done it was at a main dealer.
Honda even confirmed to me that it wouldn't affect any warranty claims on my motorbike and it being late was a non issue during the covid period.
