Good morning,

I’m considering retro-fitting the Chrono pack to my Checkmate, I’ve seen multiple people do this but is it possible to code second hand units into a different car? I don’t want the mileage or anything to be wrong etc…

Thanks in advance

In simple terms (pretty much) no.

It is possible to do but it means soldering a rather fiddly surface mounted IC into the new centre dial from your old one.

The bigger issue rather than mileage is that many of the warning lights are swapped over, so don't work right.

I managed to find a set with very similar mileage to mine & swapped warning light LEDs and warning symbols over from my original set to the chrono set, but it wasn't easy.

That sounds like a lot of messing around!

It is, I tried 3 different methods of coding before resigning myself to the soldering iron, after more specialist advice.
