Coolant leak (2005 Mini One)

Hello,

Last week I had my usual garage diagnose a coolant leak (the expansion tank needed topping up every 2-3 months) and they diagnosed a leaking radiator and replaced. Since then twice the expansion tank has been completely empty, which is a worse situation than I started with (it was taking 2-3 months to drain, not 2-3 days!). Is it obvious what might have gone wrong here?

I have it booked in again with them later this week, would be good to understand better what the cause might be so I can better understand what they tell me after looking.

Coolant hose not connected properly, leaking thermostat housing in addition to to the leaking radiator.

Coolant hose not connected properly, leaking thermostat housing in addition to to the leaking radiator. If its loosing that much fluid it should be easy to see where its coming from
