Hi

I have a 2016 Mini Cooper SD auto 57k on the clock. I Love the car but I have found that it has a strange problem; potentially with the Aiden 6 speed auto.

The car works through the gears absolutely fine and seems perfect however, when slowing to a stop, the car has a judder like it wants to stall (it doesn’t). This judder only happens when it slows to a stop. Around 5mph. It’s not the brakes and so assuming it’s the gearbox not shifting down from second perhaps. It does it all the time, morning night, hot or cold. It’s not an overwhelming judder, but it’s enough to notice something isn’t right.

Once stopped it’s fine no judder or any noise it only happens when slowing to a stop as stated and lasts a few seconds. The idle sounds right and there is no jumping on the speedo. All is absolutely A* other than this issue.

Has anyone else experienced this? I am gonna do an oil change on the gearbox but would appreciate some help on this one as it’s a worry.

Thanks all

Did you manage to find out the problem? I have an auto F56 and it's doing the exact same thing

Does it mainly do this when it's cold? My 2018 DCT cooper was doing exactly this. Turns out it was the fuel tank value -seems odd this failing would have this effect, but once it was replaced it stopped doing it. I was like the engine was running rich and struggling to get back to the normal idling speed as the car came to stop. It felt like I was breaking against the engine as it came to a halt.
